Emilia White holds a BFA in Theater & Original Works from Cornish College of the Arts, and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design, where she teaches as a Lecturer of time-based media and socially engaged art. White’s work has been presented nationally and internationally, including during her extensive four-year residence in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Although she works as an individual artist primarily due to COVID, she thrives in collaborative settings where artists engaging with different mediums work together. Past collaborators have included Fitri Setyaningsih, Taring Padi, Alvin Hill, Jawbone Puppet Theater and Carrie Morris. White co-curated The Performance Laboratory in Detroit from 2010-2015.
