"Connections Fade" is of an aging brain in coronal section, with small dark wisps referencing scar and deposits, such as that with tau protein and old TBI. The title refers to the loss of synaptic connection, loss of memory and executive function with an aged, injured brain.”

Andria Powers is a pediatric neuroradiology physician, painter, developing poet and mother of three in the Midwest. Since medical school, the arts have helped her navigate the intersection of health, disease, loss and the human experience.
